I’m writing a book and I don’t want to make it sound boring when I’m trying to say " The main character did this, and then she did this, and after she does this. " How can I make a series of events sound interesting ? This is what I have so far… ( for the series of events part. ) It’s just a rough draft

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep… ugh. Why didn’t I go to bed earlier? Why cruel world did you invent alarm clocks? I’m going back to sleep, I don’t care how many times she calls my name this morning, I’m too tired to go to school.
“ Sandra! Get down here now and eat your breakfast! NOW! “ My mother’s voice manages to make it from the kitchen all the way up to my bedroom still sounding like she’s screeching her pterodactyl voice into my ear drums. I sluggishly slide myself into a sitting position, preparing my feet for what I know is going to feel like holding up the mass of a sumo wrestler. Shaking my head somewhat awake I stand and feel like a zombie waking from a perfect slumber. And it sucks. Every step I take my feet drag on the hardwood flooring, they stick like glue and peel off like the skin of a banana. “ Sandra didn’t you hear me? I said get up NOW! “ Mother’s yelling is bringing me to the edge again. I’m standing here swaying back and forth ready to jump.
“ I’m coming mom! “ Voice scratchy and quiet almost, I could rupture into a million pieces if I wanted to, just let go and fall. But for now I think I’ll hold on, just for a little while until I move out, that way no one can save me if I do try to jump. As I round the corner of the kitchen I don’t smell breakfast, no toast or cereal waited for me, just a protein shake.
“ Here, “ moms bony hands push the bottle of pink liquid toward me “ drink this, it will keep you alert all day, make sure you drink it all. Don’t leave anything left in there… I made that for you and I want it all gone before you go to school.

So is this better than saying " I got up and went downstairs into the kitchen where mom waited for me with a pink bottle of gush." ?

I have been thinking about this statement about alarm clocks. No one in my family is smart enough to tell me why, but why does the statement say, "Alarm clock went off" When the sound/beeping goes on? Anyone know why?

So I have 3 alarms set on my cell phone’s alarm clock, and a cheap digital alarm clock on my night stand.
The thing is, alarm clocks scare me shitless in the morning and I just jump to the snooze button before it even has time to get louder, no matter what the sound is set to, and sometimes I even turn them off in my sleep.

I’ve had wake-up calls and still fell asleep.

Honestly, sometimes I just find myself feeling way too comfortable in bed to get out of bed. I don’t even have to be tired, I could be wide awake, and still go to sleep because I’m so comfortable that I don’t want to get up. Especially when my roommates turn the temp on too cold or too hot, I just want to stay under the covers.

My parents told me to buy a better alarm clock.. that’s their suggestion. What’s yours?
