Help: am I an insomniac?????????????????

Okay, so I have trouble sleeping at night. I find myself not being about to fall asleep for hours, whether I’m lying there or doing something.
But once I fall asleep, I’m really asleep and I’ll sleep really hard for up to 19 hours (thats MAX. Only on weekends)
when i wake up though I will often have trouble and sleep walk: turn my alarm clock off, turn my phone alarm off, and turn alarms on my computer on different web pages off with out actually waking up. no matter how hard i make it for me to find the alarm clock, on my computer or hidden my room, i usually turn it off without ever waking up.
but once i’m up, i’m up, and i function fine with 3-4 hours of sleep.

Last year I used to go to sleep around 1:00 and wake up at 4:00 to the sound of my phone vibrating everyday. It was really easy to wake up and I always did it. I function fine and my grades were really good. The only thing that isn’t entirely right about those five months was I don’t really remember anything from then.
But the same still stands for now: I function better with less sleep and I find it hard to fall asleep.

Could that be classified as insomnia??
Okay, while sometimes I will sleep for up to nineteen hours, I usually don’t. That’s only on the weekends and only occasionally on the weekends. I’m usually up until 5,6, or 7 am on the weekends and getting up at 9 am.
Only in the late have I been sleeping for 19 hours and i’m recovering from swine flu, a head cold, and a colon infection, so it’s kinda health sleep.
On the exercising one: During the summer when I go to my great grandmother’s house, the only way I can fall asleep at all there is doing something similar to that. I stretch myself out on my bed, make sure the sheets don’t bug me at all and there’s no weight on my feet and that my hands are comfortable and let my feet get numb. Then i let my legs get numb and work progressively up to my head where I am working on making my brain go numb.
Only then can i fall asleep and this only usually works because she’s crazy and likes to do a ton of excising and runs me ragged. (I lost ten pounds in a week when i was there 2 years ago.)

hope that helps with more info

I need to find a better way to wake up in the morning?

So I have 3 alarms set on my cell phone’s alarm clock, and a cheap digital alarm clock on my night stand.
The thing is, alarm clocks scare me shitless in the morning and I just jump to the snooze button before it even has time to get louder, no matter what the sound is set to, and sometimes I even turn them off in my sleep.

I’ve had wake-up calls and still fell asleep.

Honestly, sometimes I just find myself feeling way too comfortable in bed to get out of bed. I don’t even have to be tired, I could be wide awake, and still go to sleep because I’m so comfortable that I don’t want to get up. Especially when my roommates turn the temp on too cold or too hot, I just want to stay under the covers.

My parents told me to buy a better alarm clock.. that’s their suggestion. What’s yours? :(

Who is right about this, me or my mom?

i missed the bus this morning because my alarm didn’t sound so (by coincidence) woke up 1 minute before the time i’m supposed to be on the bus. i got ready and my mom always complains whenever she has to take me to school so she says that there are going to be consequences for this. Why should there be consequences? i was late because of my alarm clock not because of me, it was set and i checked and i got ready literally in only 5 minutes (shower/hair/clothes). Should i be punished for this,no because it’s not my fault it’s the alarms fault so if she wants she can punish the clock and buy me a new one. I am at school so i went anyway with my mom but she is still punishing me for the entire weekend when i had plans to do stuff with my friends and parents.

Why cant i use digital alarms?

So I keep downloading digital alarm clocks for my laptops, however none of them work in the sense that why they go off, they don’t play the music of my choice. In fact they make no sound at all. They work fine when I test them but if i leave my computer alone for several hours (when I sleep) the alarm will turn on, but no sound will come out. This happens on almost every single alarm I use. The only ones that work are the ones that force an external media player to open.

However alarms that play songs themselves will not make any sounds.

This is very baffling to me. If anyone knows the reason please help.

problems waking up, immune to alarm clocks?!?! or sleep walking? also memory loss upon waking up?

first of all id like to state that i DO get the recommended 8 hours sleep.
usually cannot get to sleep within the first hour of laying down.

every morning i have 7 alarm clocks that go off, some at the same time, some at the other side of the room, others a syncopated, basically a shit storm of them because i was finding it harder and harder to stay awake.

it seems like i have grown "immune" to them as i simply do not wake up until my i hear my dad walking up the stairs or opening the door ect, which is relativly quiet compared to the 7 alarms.

when i do wake up from my dad coming in, my alarms are all switched off and i have absolutely NO memory of switching them off myself. in fact i have complete memory loss until i stay up for about 5 mins. memory loss as in confusion to my surroundings, i can’t answer questions properly. i have never done a self memory test in that state, mainly because every time i plan to, I FORGET.

this sounds like a troll, but believe me i am not trolling.

im a healthy 19 year old as far as i know.

oh i’ve tried many times to sleep it off ie: going to sleep on weekends and waking up whenever i want. but i will always wake up doing 16 hours sleep just as tired (but with no desire to sleep more)

wat do?

excuse poor grammar: dyslexia.

How can I get my external sound to work on my iTouch?

I have the 8gb vs., no problems with things like alarm clocks and every so often it makes a noise (not sure what it is, it just randomly makes a noise..thought it was an hourly chime but its not on the hours). Anyways, I have several apps that feature sound…I’ve heard other people use the same apps and have the sound play externally, but I just can’t figure it out on mine. What do I do? I have gone to general settings, and clicked on speakers and headset for sound (both) so not sure if what else to do. If there was something wrong with the speakers them selves I would think the alarms wouldn’t go off, so any ideas? Am I missing a setting somewhere? Is there a volume control for the speakers (can’t find that!!!). My headphones have no problems (and no, they aren’t plugged in when I’m trying to have external sound!), and when I’m playing music the volume control for those is right there…where is it for external sound (or is there one), because maybe that is my problem? HELP!!!!!!!
